Seiryū, known as one of the five gods of Onmyōdō, represents Spring and Wood, symbolizing the East direction. This deity is often associated with the Azure Dragon, a powerful and majestic creature. Alongside Seiryū stand four other gods: Byakko, the white tiger embodying Autumn and Metal, facing West; Suzaku, the Vermillion Sparrow personifying Summer and Fire, standing South; Genbu, the Black Tortoise representing Winter and Water, positioned North; and Kirin, The Yellow Dragon symbolizing Earth and the ever-changing seasons at the Center. These divine beings are linked to esoteric practices such as Kuji-kiri, Shugendo, and Shingon Mikkyo. A statue of Seiryū can be found in a Heian-jingu fountain, paired with Byakko, showcasing the balance between East and West in Okazaki Nishitennocho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto Prefecture 606-8341.
