Moving silently on segways like stealthy, albeit dorky, ninjas, we often need a way to alert drivers in oversized pick-up trucks. A regular bike bell won't do the trick. After much searching, I opted for the Galforce two-tone bicycle horn/siren, which, while not resembling a real police siren, is impressively loud and effective at grabbing pedestrians' attention from afar. The actual reason behind choosing the Galforce was its powerful air-horn, which closely mimics the sound of police/fire/safety vehicles. Powered by a lipo S4 (14.8v) battery, it's so loud that it's not advisable to use it indoors. In fact, it can stop an entire office building in its tracks - or so I've heard. The Galforce comes with a mount designed to fit snugly against the curvature of the handlebar. The STL file is set up for right-side mounting but can be easily mirrored for left-side installation. Assembly involves using an M6 bolt long enough to secure the project box (with battery inside) to the upper half of the handlebar assembly, with an 11mm nut for extra stability. To ensure durability and prevent swaying or bending, I printed both the mount and the project box using 100% fill on black PLA, a material that has proven less prone to shrinkage and produces a sturdier finish.
