Sega Mega Drive/Genesis AV drill jig template
thingiverse
I recently acquired another Model 1 Mega Drive and undertook the complete mod process, incorporating S-Video, composite, and stereo audio output capabilities. To ensure precision, I opted for a more accurate approach than the conventional method of using painters tape and a drill. Instead, I created a custom jig that attaches to the case, allowing for effortless drilling of pilot holes. Subsequent larger holes can then be drilled to match the AV sockets being utilized. This design was modeled specifically for a PAL VA4 Mega Drive system; however, it should accommodate most (if not all) Model 1 systems with ease. A 2mm drill bit is required for this process.
