Seestar S50 - Flat Ground Base Mount
thingiverse
You may have noticed that the Seestar has to be on a tripod mount to operate, as the base has four rubber feet that are longer than the rotating element on the base of the Seestar.I wanted to put mine directly on the patio table, which is already very sturdy, but I didn't want the extra height of the tripod, hence this base plate. You do need to purchase either a 3/8th to 3/8th tripod screw, or as I have done a 3/8th to 1/4 collar, and then used a 1/4 to 3/8th's converter, see the phot to get a better understanding. Here is a link to the adapter pack I bought - https://goldenlink.club/3-8-adapterI make no warranty on the sturdiness of this base, although I do use it myself. It is unsuitable if there is any wind (although even with the tripod, the wind will cause imaging issues), but with a tripod, you get extra leg stability; this is ideal for a floor or table with no wind. Please credit @PixelatedDad if you use this :-)
