Mold to create seedling pots out of newspaper. Cut a strip of newspaper approximately 6 inches wide and 10 inches long. Fold the newspaper lengthwise so that it is now 3 inches wide x 10 inches long. Align the folded edge with the grooved line on the mold and roll it up tightly. Fold the bottom flaps inward and then press the newspaper-covered molding stick firmly into the base. Remove the base, and then slide the seedling pot off smoothly. If the pot unravels, try wrapping it more snugly before pressing it into the base. If the pot tears when you slide it off the mold, try wrapping it a bit looser. If the pot tears at the bottom, try pressing it gently into the base with less force. Use the funnel to add soil and then carefully place a seed at the proper depth. Position on a drip tray. Water lightly but do not overwater or the newspaper will fall apart easily! Transplant into the garden when the seedling reaches the desired height. With my daughter's help, we made 60 pots in about 15 minutes with ease. This project was created using Tinkercad.
