I have little enthusiasm for cultivating things that don't provide a return on my investment. My yard features enormous trees that offer shade and attract woodland creatures, but they also pose a threat to any harvest I might try to grow. The summer heat can be oppressive without the trees' protection, making it an unsuitable time for gardening. After years of laboring with minimal results, I discovered that using Earthboxes on my upper deck was a more practical choice. Around ten years ago, I largely abandoned buying nursery plants and began starting seeds from scratch because high-quality seeds are widely available online. The local heirloom varieties outperform hybrid seeds in terms of hardiness, flavor, and yield. I have a growing system that becomes more complex each year. This season, I used components from DonaldJ's PVC pipe construction set to create a flexible support for the Black Dog LED grow light. Eventually, these parts will be repurposed to build an indoor hydroponics setup during the winter months. The construction set proved to be a brilliant concept, so I decided to give it a try with this project. It took only one attempt to complete it.
