Seed Maester: Seed Dispenser With Auto-Adjusting Release Speed
grabcad
The Horus Kestrel 3D Drone now comes with an accessory that enables it to autonomously plant seeds. Featuring a fully mechanical design, the attachment uses the drone's movement for propulsion; a turbine blade rotates an Archimedes screw that dispenses seeds from a hopper at a rate proportional to the drone's speed. Designed to fit between the drone and landing gear, its small seed hopper can be refilled without removal. A friend suggested an additional rotary part for spreading grass seeds. Printable in FDM or Objet with soluble support material, optimal results are achieved when printing with fan upwards. Inspired by BioCarbon Engineering's work, this design ensures accurate seed dispersion on the ground, but a future iteration may incorporate the suggested feature for broader seed dispersal. Feedback is welcome for further improvements.
