The project has undergone a modification to insert the connector into the filter from the side without a leer-lock, which could easily become loose. This is a connector designed for use with a SECURA multi-use mask (non-medical by standard) connected to a standard inlet of a filter on a DAR ventilator. Paramedics working in the field require two filters, but those working inside hospitals need only one. To accommodate this difference, an endcap is included to seal the unused outlet of the mask. The connector's size has been made thick to ensure rigidity and proper sealing. High-tolerance narrow settings are also used to guarantee a tight fit between the tube and the filter. If the connection feels too tight or too loose, adjustments can be made by fine-tuning the HORIZONTAL X/Y COMPENSATION (Slic3r, Simplify3D) or HORIZONTAL EXPANSION (Cura) settings to achieve an exact thickness for the tube. Materials recommended for printing include PLA and PET-G, with a layer height of 0.2mm and 100% infill for high rigidity and good sealing. Printing time is approximately 40 minutes. ***IMPORTANT*** This connector serves as an alternative to original and certified components. While it has been accepted by some individual doctors based on their assessment, it has not undergone clinical testing. Logically, however, the tight fit should ensure a complete seal.
