Secretly Locking Seafall Treasure Chest
thingiverse
My Gaming Group Got Seafall with the Intent to Play It, and I Was Looking at the Terribly Boring Cardboard Treasure Chests That Came with It, and I Just Felt the Need to Do Something More Fun. I originally planned to secure the lid with magnets but I got carried away and made it have a secret locking mechanism where you rotate the symbol on the top and it locks and unlocks. I've only finished one of the Seafall symbols so far as I've just finished the prototype build, but I've included a blank symbol part if you want to stick your own thing on it. Both brimmed and unbrimmed parts included because the PLA I was printing was lifting up at the corners a little. The symbol will probably need a little sanding around the edges so it fits just right. Rotate so the bottom is down on all parts when printing, my CAD program works 90 degrees to everything else. Needs about 4 spots of glue to attach the lid parts together and another to glue the logo disc on. Internal dimensions are 100mm x 65mm x 52mm. Unfortunately, it does not fit back in the Seafall box. However, Zzzzzane has modified the body to be shorter if you want a version that fits better. If you're interested in the updated design, check out this link: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2055008 Revision History: December 2, 2016 - I updated P02 to increase tolerance on sockets and added a chamfer around the inside of the ring to make assembly easier. December 5, 2016 - I added unicorn and castle logos to P02, adjusted P02 and P04 for hopefully easier assembly. I also rotated everything so up is truly up. December 11, 2016 - I added all remaining Seafall logos.
