Second fan for Reprap Ormerod

Second fan for Reprap Ormerod

This is a trial to incorporate an additional (software controlled) fan into the Reprap Ormerod. The initial fan was swapped with a more tranquil one, which still runs continuously to cool the heat sink. A second fan is regulated via the fan output of the Duet board using DC42 firmware. To reuse the original screws that secure the "main-fan", I drilled stud holes for the screw heads to pass through. The cone and the second fan are fixed with M3 screws of appropriate length and nuts. Additional washers are required at the screw holding the cone. For the second fan, two extra wires need to be inserted into the cable conduit of the hot end. I encountered issues with the hot end connector: the hot end remained cool, but the connector reached high temperatures. Consequently, I decided to install a high-power connector suitable for RC model batteries for heating and use the original contacts for the second fan. Parts were printed with PLA, 0.25 mm layers, and 20% infill (not much material was needed). The base was printed upside down with the cone standing at the fan mount.
