I ride bikes and firmly believe that you should always carry a blinking taillight for visibility when riding on the road. My only problem is I'm forgetful and often fail to turn on my taillight, which defeats its purpose entirely. To solve this issue, I highly recommend the Cateye Reflex taillight (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003WCFJZE/), which automatically turns on when you start moving your bike. You do have to cover the light sensor with tape so it only blinks at night - a simple and easy process that's explained in my review on Amazon. However, there's one major problem with the Cateye taillight: it comes with two different clamps, both of which are designed for round seatposts. Most bikes have this type of seatpost, but mine has an aero teardrop-shaped seatpost, making it impossible to use the taillight on my Giant Defy bike. But when I got back into 3D printing thanks to a good friend's encouragement, I saw an opportunity to solve this problem. Even before I had access to a 3D printer, I had designed the solution, and I'm thrilled to say that the first iteration works despite not being visually appealing. I've created several other designs since then, each an improvement over the last but still not perfect. This product will only appeal to a very specific group of people: those with Giant Defy or TCR bikes featuring aero seatposts. But if you're part of this niche group, you'll be incredibly happy to have this option available. To use it, simply transfer the 8mm nut from one of the seat clamps. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Maker Select v2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 50% grid Notes: I'm going off memory here since it was one of my first prints, and I didn't take notes at the time. How I Designed This: Designed in SketchUp Despite still being a learning curve for me, I designed this part to lay flat on one side so that at least half of it could be printed without supports. However, it's almost essential to have supports for the other side. It could potentially be printed vertically, but then you'd need supports for the light mount and the hex and circle for precision would suffer.
