Limestone seated portrait statue of Akhmeretnesut, superintendent of Royal gardens, proudly displays his dignified presence. Crafted in the distinctive style characteristic of late Dynasty 5 and early Dynasty 6, he sits with confidence, his left hand firmly planted on his knee and his right hand clenched into a powerful fist. Adorned with a pleated kilt and an elegantly styled wig featuring a center part, Akhmeretnesut exudes authority. Notably, the nose has suffered damage. Provenance reveals that this stunning statue originated from Giza, specifically G 2184. Unearthed by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition in 1912, it was subsequently allocated to the MFA by the Egyptian government on December 5, 1912. Photography and photogrammetry of this remarkable artifact were skillfully captured by Zhejiang University.
