Seated Metrodorus at The Louvre, Paris
myminifactory
This sculpture bears a striking resemblance to a portrait of a seated Socrates, as rendered by other replica sculptures and frescos attributed to the artist Éphese. Dating back to circa 370-300 BC, the lost original is said to be the work of Lypsippe, an inspiration for this variant. This representation can serve as a model for the epic philosopher Metrodorus (330-277 BC). Crafted in Rome, it showcases the artist's skill and attention to detail.
