Seated Goddess of Gadara
myminifactory
The colossal figure of a goddess towers above, crafted from gleaming white marble. Seated on a throne, she cradles a cornucopia in her left hand, a powerful symbol of fertility that underscores her significance as a patron deity. Although the head is missing and draped in mystery, it's possible that it bore a turreted crown, reinforcing its ties to Tyche, the revered personification of the Hellenized city. While the identification is not definitive, it seems highly probable. This massive statue was forged in an Asian workshop before being transported to Gadara, where it now stands as a testament to the artistry and skill of its creators.
