Seated figurine
myminifactory
Figurines of human form frequently appear on Late Neolithic village sites in Southeast Europe, yet their intended use remains a mystery. This fired clay figurine depicts a seated person resting their hands on their hips. The face is intricately stylized and may represent an individual wearing a mask. The figure has been adorned with incised lines that suggest it is dressed in a garment and wears amulets. Holes at the head and arms were possibly used to hold earrings or other ornaments. Some of its reddish hue remains preserved on the body, leading some to assume this figurine is female, though this classification remains uncertain due to the lack of conclusive evidence from parallel examples.
