Seatbelt Assist.

My mother-in-law's husband was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, but thanks to his medication, he can still drive his car easily. However, the condition poses significant challenges for him when it comes to buckling up due to impaired dexterity. To address this issue, I designed a tool that helps people like him reach and secure their seat belt more comfortably. While working on this project, I tested it out and was pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness, especially after intense weightlifting sessions - I'm an avid lifter myself! To attach the device to the car's seat belt, simply clip it onto the metal bar located just below the buckle. The model is 3D printed and comes in two versions: one that snaps on and off with ease and another more permanent version featuring a small screw or pin. What I find most rewarding about this project is that it showcases the value of 3D printing technology when faced with real-world problems without readily available commercial solutions. When confronted with everyday issues like this, I'm thrilled to utilize my skills to create innovative tools that make life easier for people in need - and I'm not alone in this pursuit. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer Model: Mono Mendel Raft Required?: No (optional but recommended) Support Material Required: Yes (depending on the specific design requirements) Resolution: 0.25 mm (very detailed and smooth prints are achievable with this setting) Infill Density: 20% (a balanced mix of structural integrity and reduced print time)
