Seat Release for 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
thingiverse
The passenger seat release in my Hyundai Tiburon was constantly falling off, so I created this custom part from scratch. Unlike its original counterpart, it doesn't resemble even 20% of the stock design. This new replacement is quick to produce, straightforward in its execution, and has a rough appearance with sharp edges that don't conform to standard norms. Its effectiveness in holding the seat release in place isn't diminished by these characteristics. My design requires only $0.15 for materials and an hour of labor to fabricate. For optimal print quality: * I recommend printing with Rafts enabled * The choice of supports is inconsequential at this stage * A 0.3mm resolution setting should be used throughout the printing process * Achieve complete density through 100% infill settings Considering the considerable strain applied to the release handle during regular use, it's essential that the part be printed in a standing orientation with the edge facing the rear of the car at the base. ABS plastic is the ideal material for this task due to its ruggedness and suitability for handling the mechanical stress involved. Given the compact footprint and relatively thin wall thickness of the piece, a print bed raft is indispensable. Whether printing without one would be effective remains uncertain.
