Seasonal Tea Light Stand

Seasonal Tea Light Stand

This is a simple seasonal tealight candle holder that I designed as part of a "CAD for 3D Printing" workshop for the NetApp YWIT 2020 event. You can see the video of the design session here: https://ywit.io/workshops/cad_for_3d_printing

Print instructions

There are two versions of the stand that can be printed. The stand_one_piece.stl can be printed without supports and is easiest. The other version is to print the base.stl, pole.stl, and 3x arm.stl and then carefully attach them together. I designed them this way so that I could send them in a small box in the mail to my family. There's really no advantage other than that.

So far, I have designed some leaves for fall and snowflakes for winter. But this design is meant to be extendable for other seasons/holidays as desired.

The sizes of each holder piece varies, but they are roughly 100mm x 100mm. The candle holder in the center has an inner diameter for 38.5mm (outer diameter of 40.5mm). The Lego-like (not actually compatible) connectors on the arms have a radius of 2mm and a height of 1.5mm. On the one piece stand, the connectors have a radius of 2.01mm for a tighter fit since printed in the upright orientation is more precise. The corresponding holes on the bottom of the holders have a radius of 2.05mm and a height of 1.7mm which gives them a fairly snug fit.
