Got the saw used with broken cranks. Didn't want to spend $50 for new ones. These fit a D shaped ½" shaft, so it could fit other saws as well. The process for fixing.I used an one inch Forstner bit to bore out the center. First I needed a plug to center the bit. I used a piece of wooden dowel with a center hole or 3D print something. To me I had wooden dowels around and it was faster.Considering you need everything level and centered a drill press is highly recommended than hand drilling. I have the cheapest Harbor Freight bench top drill press they sell. set handle on blocks as in picture to drill. I used my hand to hold crank while drilling. It may try to jerk as the bit comes through the bottom.Clean any excess material from bottom of crank. Press in 3D insert and align screws holes at open spaces on bottom side of crank. Use insert as drill guide. Drill through insert for your preferred screw size and bolt together.I made these around spring 2022. I don't have printing settings but I think I used 30% infill for better strength and basic PLA filament settings.
