The main focus was to be able to use the standard cartridges and nozzles. Locating the drive in closest range of the tip was also important. The design should allow to start in any corner and end on any edge. It should allow application in angles as well as on flat surfaces. The idea behind the 'open' gear at the end where the right hand handle is was to enable the user to push the gear forward with the thumb in order to speed up back travel when exchanging cartridges. There is a retainer disc in front of the cartridge, which allows for axial adjustment to compensate a wider tip. (A wider tip of the nozzle is achieved through cutting it off and thus making it shorter.) Didn't really find the time to calculate the gear ratios, but that should be the least bit. Furthermore, please don't rate the bevel gears. I spent hours, just to find out the software has "limitations". Clumsily done manually within a few minutes. Hope you like the design.
