Seal for 3mm Panel LACK Enclosure
thingiverse
UPDATE 06/07/19: Added a variation with a flat edge to seal the doors. Can also be used for side panels but fit is more dependent on panel alignment. I designed these magnetic panels to seal the LACK enclosure (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3668966) in order to control airflow when using the air scrubber (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3648628). I looked for a pre-made solution but couldn't find anything that fit well or sealed the 3mm gap. To make things more complicated, the enclosure isn't perfectly true so the gap varies between each panel. So I headed to Fusion 360 and did some test prints until I found a working seal. This is version 7 of the design and it prints great with FlexFill 98A. I also tried using Ninjaflex, PETG, and combinations of all those but printing just with Flexfill was both easy and effective. The pieces print best with the two feet down and no supports or brimming needed on a textured build plate. Best results for me with Flexfill were achieved with retract set to 0. The strips are slightly long so they can be cut to length and either glued or melted together. I used a soldering iron and it worked great. Just slip the seal onto the panel and you're good to go! A dab of superglue locks it in place if needed. I included three different lengths to accommodate various gap widths. Also, I added a test piece with all three lengths so you can check which one works best for you.
