SEAHORSE MAGNETIC TOY
thingiverse
A whimsical toy crafted from the fusion of curiosity and neodymium magnets. Print the STL as is, using any material you prefer. The design prints flawlessly in ABS at 230C, accompanied by a bed temperature of 110C, resulting in zero warping. Furthermore, it produces stunning results when printed in PETG, provided that the correct temperature settings are applied. Small neodymium magnets secured beneath the base and seahorse using superglue enable the toy's magnetic functionality. A length of sewing thread supports the seahorse, while the positioning of the magnets and thread determines the magnitude of its movement. If properly aligned, the seahorse exhibits unpredictable yet captivating motion, gradually calming down but always in motion. Occasionally, its movement becomes almost imperceptible, keeping observers engaged. To assemble the toy, print it as is, then invert the base and insert the yardarm, securing it with superglue. A Thing file has been included for users of Makerbot printers to facilitate a seamless printing experience. Enjoy this unique creation.
