Sea Urchin Light

This stunning sea urchin light instantly transforms any room into a breathtaking space! I've already printed five of these incredible lights using my 3D printer, replacing traditional glass ball ceiling light covers in my home. A real sea urchin shell was meticulously scanned to create this unique light cover, carefully designed to fit comfortably on a Prusa MK3 3D printer or similar models. Depending on the material you choose for printing, you can achieve distinct lighting effects (see photos comparing various materials and finishes). I discovered that using Natural PLA with a translucent finish and lightly spraying it with white paint produced the most impressive results; Natural PLA alone struggled to showcase the intricate textures of the shell, although it provided optimal illumination, while solid white PLA created an amazing shadow effect when turned on, but fell short in brightness for room illumination. Therefore, you can select the perfect effect based on your needs (illumination vs. decoration). If you want to use this Sea Urchin Light with a different lighting fixture, such as a lamp, simply scale the model to fit your requirements.
