Sea Turtle magnetic dish towel rack
thingiverse
This thing is a remix of a great sea turtle model that I have used before to make some cool refrigerator magnets by drilling out holes in the bottom and gluing in some strong magnets. I have made various sizes by simply scaling the turtles in my slicer. One side of my refrigerator looks like a school of sea turtles. :-) This version is to make a magnet mounted towel rack for your refrigerator. Our new fridge doesn't have handles and we were used to having a towel there. Keep reaching for it and it isn't there! So, this should fix that problem. This model is made to hold two 18mm x 3mm magnets. One magnet is strong enough, but I have found when you use a center mounted magnet the piece likes to rotate when you put any force on it. The two magnets mounted side by side better resist that rotation. I have flattened the bottom to make it better to fit the magnets. You can scale this to any size you want but then the magnet holes will change so you might need to drill them out or use some extra glue or filler. Or import the model into your design software, fill in the holes and make new ones to your liking. If the magnet holes are too snug just run a utility knife around the opening to shave a tiny bit out.
