The ancient Greeks referred to their sea deities as "Theoi Halioi". At the helm of these gods were Poseidon, the mighty Sea-King, and his powerful queen Amphitrite. The Greek pantheon's oceanic contingent spanned a vast spectrum, encompassing primordial powers and an Olympian god on one end, and mortal heroes, mystical nymphs, cunning tricksters, and fearsome monsters on the other.
