Human: (Made for 10mm smooth rod, havent tested it on 8mm yet..)\nMoving a larger heated surface like this requires as little friction as possible. With solid polymer 10mm bearings working well for me so far, I wanted to take it a step further and came up with this solution.\nI have been using the OpenX carriage design (will post link soon) on my Prusa Mendel for some time now because it made an immediate impact. Here are the results, tailored specifically for 10mm smooth rod on my sE1X. I plan to include these in the sE1X kits I sell at http://mobious.org .\nLulzbot 300x300mm bed plate: https://www.lulzbot.com/products/300-x-300mm-bed-plate-mount\n((P.S.-feedback/criticism is welcomed))\nUPDATE-10/10/15:\nNeeded Improvements:\n-better bearing alignment, adjust bracket hole placement and lower top side holes by about 2.5mm.\n-add counter-sunk holes for m4 hex nuts on the bottom of carriage body.\n-fix nut traps for the M5's that hold the brackets and 605Z bearings to the side of carriage body - lower them about 1mm. \n(My first prototype simply had the top side M5 nuts dremeled down so it would lay flat against the lulzbot plate. I also used a 5/16th drill bit for counter sinking the M4 holes along the bottom side of the carriage bodies. Other than slight bearing alignment issues, results still look promising! Now reassembling...will post update! -pb)\n-UPDATE 10/11/15-\nAll problems fixed. Raised overall height by 1mm to prevent trap nuts from sticking out. Improved bracket bearing alignment and filleted it a bit more for added smoothness. Also created traps for the M4 nuts and adjusted hole alignment with build plate for precision. Enjoy!\nPrint Settings\nRafts: \n None\n \n Supports: \n None\n \n Resolution: \n 0.2mm\n \n Infill: \n 50%\n \n Notes: \n Easy and quick print. Kept design simple to maintain consistency.\nHow I Designed This\n-- Required Hardware --\n 8 ball bearings (605Z)\n4 M5-16's\n4 M5-20's\n8 M5 hex nuts(pre-drilled)\nYou'll need approximately 21 M5 washers\nAbout 12 M4-16's and matching nuts will also be necessary to secure the plate, though this remains unverified for now. Additional help is appreciated in this area. Good luck! \nwashers are a plus\nLulzbot 300mm^2 build plate: https://www.lulzbot.com/products/300-x-300mm-bed-plate-mount
