SD to SATA adapter case
thingiverse
This is a housing for a commonly available SD card to SATA adapter. For reference, I found the model here: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIABR04YT8633&cm_re=sata_sdhc_adapter-_-9SIABR04YT8633-_-Product or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0078PVL8U/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i2, and also on various eBay sellers. The board measures approximately 50x75 mm. Two 3mm screws are required to assemble it together. I used 3x8mm screws, but any length between 5-10mm should work just fine as they will self-thread into the body. The picture shows only the Body and Top pieces which were all that I needed. However, in case someone else finds this part useful and wants to mount it instead of a 2.5 inch drive, I have included an alternate part that provides for that. I haven't printed this part yet, but I'm confident that it will work as designed according to the 2.5 drive spec, including the position of the SATA connector relative to the mounting points in the long direction. In the lateral direction, the connector is centered, which isn't standard. If you want to modify this design, the CAD files are available on Onshape at https://cad.onshape.com/documents/946ff01ff846b43da6c26111/w/7671690322d356c81f17a0d6/e/d808070ed4ee776bef1cc5fc. I printed this without any support and had no issues, but my printer had to bridge the opening for the SD card, so depending on your printer and filament you might need to add some support.
