SD Card Locker

SD Card Locker

thingiverse

This is my very first attempt at creating a 3D model. Unable to find a locker that suited my SD card storage needs, I took matters into my own hands by designing this model. It should be easily printable on smaller printers like the M3D, which happens to be mine. Despite not having printed it yet, I'm fairly confident that it will require at least medium-quality and medium-filled settings to come out right. Whether using PLA or ABS could affect the print is still unknown to me. However, the lid's tolerances are very tight, meaning some minor trimming might be necessary for the posts to fit snugly into their sockets. If I could get my hands on the materials, I would definitely remove a bit from the post and insert two 10mm neodymium magnets in both the sockets and post ends, ensuring a more secure closure by snapping the lid and base together with a click. Tinkercad was the CAD software used to bring this design to life.
