SD Card Adapter Mount

SD Card Adapter Mount

thingiverse

I strongly dislike mini SD cards, and the hassle they cause in the 3D print workflow! Here's a simple mount for the mini SD to Full SD adapter that makes using it much easier. It attaches securely with 2 M4 screws and T nuts to the aluminum Extrusion structure. You can mount it anywhere you like - I mounted one on my Ender 3, first on the left side near the original mini SD card slot and then on the right near the control panel. The design includes a small protective tail that helps keep extra ribbon cable tidy by folding it under. To assemble it, screw the T-nuts down before inserting the adapter unit. Although it's a press fit, you can add a drop of super glue to secure it permanently if needed. To get started, pick up some M4 T-nuts (available at this link: https://amzn.to/2PgbkFZ) and M4 button cap screws - about 8 mm long (found here: https://amzn.to/2rgrwNK). You'll also need a mini SD to SD adapter (get it from this link: https://amzn.to/2DTSSke). While you're at it, consider adding my extra SD card holder (available on Thingiverse here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2918543). To print the mount, use an ender with the tail in the air and only a few supports in the center of the holes.
