sd box

I needed a simple way to store ONE micro sd card. Four micro sd boxes and tops sit comfortably on a standard base. I added an extra feature: a full-size sd box was created from scratch. This new design required some tweaking due to strings and blobs that accumulated during printing. The two halves fit together snugly, but sometimes needed scraping with a razor blade to ensure they came apart easily. Here's a bottom and top on a standard base, as well as one micro sd top and bottom on a standard base. They were printed in PLA with a layer thickness of 0.2mm and an infill percentage of 20%. Revision: It was pointed out that the top fit too loosely on the full-size sd box. Upon reviewing some previous prints, I noticed some similar issues. To address this, I made a slight modification to the top design, which now fits more securely. Three STL files are included: one for the complete box with brim, another for just the bottom, and the last one for just the top. These files were printed in PLA, but required scraping the corners of the tall thin walls with a razor blade to fit together properly. However, after sliding them in and out a few times, they loosened up. When printing in ABS, I encountered significant issues with the same design. A dremel was eventually used to make adjustments. It appears that proper retraction settings play a crucial role in this design's success. My printer for PLA is more finely tuned than my printer for ABS. Printing in PLA at 0.2mm layer thickness and 20% infill, as well as printing in ABS at the same settings.
