Scythe Encounter Token

Scythe Encounter Token

This is a custom attempt to create a 3D encounter token for use with Jamey Stegmaier's exciting new tabletop game, Scythe. The game comes with numerous exceptional components, making it seem like a waste to utilize standard cardboard pieces on the board at all. This project aims to address that. When I printed these tokens, I switched out the PLA just as it started printing the top layers of each piece to avoid painting them altogether. Unfortunately, I encountered some difficult issues with spiderwebs, requiring me to spend about an hour carefully picking at the tokens with a fine-tip exacto knife to clean them up. However, I believe it was worth it in the end. They serve their intended purpose, even if they don't fully match the rest of the game's impressive design. Thank you, Jamey, for creating such an incredible gaming experience! Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: High Infill: 100% Notes: I swapped out the PLA just as it started printing the top levels of each token to highlight the compass meridian and outer circles. I used True Green for the base color and True Yellow for the highlight. It's essential to note that when you import the STL file, you'll need to scale the object to 50% for the token to be accurate. Sorry, I'm still learning, and I didn't want to go back and figure out what I did wrong with the scaling. How I Designed This I used Google Sketchup to quickly design this model. If anyone encounters any issues with the model, please accept my apologies in advance; I did my best to replicate the printed token pieces from the game to the best of my ability, sometimes employing creative methods to achieve what I wanted. It wouldn't surprise me if I had messed up the model somewhere along the line!
