SCX24 Universal Trailer Hitch
cults3d
This is my first time publishing a design so let me know if there's anything I can change. I had been looking for a hitch for my scx24 jeep but there didn't seem to be many options out for 3d printing anything that would work well. I ended up making my own to work with all the scx24's and I figure someone else may need this too. I have only tried this on my own jeep JL let me know how it fits on yours. It is very sturdy without really effecting the crawling capabilities. Note: It is necessary to relocate the battery or install these low CG sliders, they will help a ton with a lower CG anyways though (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4917439) Install is pretty straight forward but you will need 6 small scx24 sized screws(if a video is needed i can make one). You will want to predrill all the holes and be very careful not to split the plastic. Detailed Instructions: The base will clip into the adapter and after predrilling you can screw in both screws. The front two prongs of the base will go in-between the groves of the chassis so its best to slide it in diagonally. The rear holes of the base should line up with the screw holes that hold the body into place. After putting the body mount in the groves you should be able to screw the holes into the mount so that it hold the bracket as well. The front prongs should line up with the old battery post holes and screw in just enough to hold it without splitting. One screw goes on each side of the drop bar and you're set. You can use whatever for your hitch but i use a steering pivot ball and arm because it is very strong and it rotates. I seen some people just use a screw though. If the top of the hitch is hitting the body when opening just cut off the excess.
