SCX10 Steering guard Defender 90
thingiverse
The servo steering guard is a popular feature on 1:1 Land Rover Defenders, but on these models it serves more of an aesthetic purpose due to the location of the servo. However, it does effectively conceal the linkage and adds to the scale appearance. This assembly utilizes two pre-existing holes on each chassis rail. The front holes are threaded into the front bumper crossmember. You can either secure the back holes with nuts and bolts or drill them as I did. To achieve a flat surface on the bed, orientate the guard at 121.15 degrees. In my case, printing without supports was possible. This design is tailored for my D90 wheelbase SCX10, but you may need to adjust the clearance at the back of the guard depending on your specific wheelbase and servo depth. Additionally, I've positioned the front bumper as close to the chassis as feasible, which might necessitate a slight trim on the mounting posts.
