SCUU8 and SCUU8 for AM8
thingiverse
I design an improved openSCAD file to manufacture the SCUU8, optimizing it for the current moment. I offer the SCUU8 STL file for download, specifically labeled as SCUU8-plus8mm.stl. Using the SCUU8-plus5mm.stl model on my AM8 printer, I paired it with the original motherboard. The result is a significantly quieter printer than before! Print speed has also increased impressively. The print quality remains identical, but this depends heavily on the driver settings - in my case, the Anet-A8 A4988 driver, while not the best available, still produces excellent results. It's crucial to note that when printing with the SCUU8, using a 0.1mm layer height is essential. Setting the infill density at 40% ensures proper screw engagement for M4 holes on the Anet A8 printer. When tapping these M4 holes, it's critical to follow a specific procedure: turn the tap 2-4 times forward, then reverse direction and reposition; repeat this process until complete. This prevents damage to the SCUU8. I've tested the SCUU8 with IGUS LM8UU bearings (note that clones may require further testing). The redesigned SCUU8 offers a larger size than its original counterpart, making it ideal for AM8 printers that necessitate a higher heat bed.
With this file you will be able to print SCUU8 and SCUU8 for AM8 with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on SCUU8 and SCUU8 for AM8.
