Sculptures of the Vasa warship
sketchfab
This is a meticulously crafted 3D replica of the intricate stern section of Sweden's iconic warship, the Vasa, complete with all its striking sculptures. The Vasa was a Swedish naval vessel constructed between 1626 and 1628. The ship met her demise after navigating approximately 1,300 meters into her inaugural voyage on August 10, 1628. Following the salvaging of most of her valuable bronze cannons in the 17th century, she slipped into obscurity until her rediscovery in the late 1950s within a bustling shipping area in Stockholm harbor. The ship was successfully recovered with a largely intact hull in 1961. She was initially housed in a temporary museum known as Wasavarvet ("The Vasa Shipyard") until 1988, before being permanently relocated to the Vasa Museum situated within the Royal National City Park of Djurgården in Stockholm. These 3D models are meticulously produced by Virtual Sweden.
