Sculptured Ergodox keycaps
thingiverse
Sculpted keycaps for ErgoDox keyboards are my main goal, although they will fit many other keyboards as well. Some years ago, I adjusted the linked model's keys to fit perfectly in Ergodox. My contributions include: * Key bumps for F, J, and 5 keys (see bc.stl and .bcr.stl). * A design for the bottom row that assumes these keys are not pressed by thumbs, which differs from many other keyboards (see evbr models). * A model for low-height keys useful for inner thumb cluster keys (see dsa_el2i.stl). * Models for four keys with 1.5 height (see dcs_e??_sr.stl). * Support for rotated stems, relevant to the four keys with 1.5 height. You can see which model is recommended for each position on [this page](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQPDlnAhvhia3NrMyzmkX0Zh8PgE8TKmAXd_iVsLRdS74sZ0MvfFRAFsOQ_7T7QOCb-0l_HKTx0KKfd/pubhtml?gid=681996875&single=true). Some models, like non-inverted DSA, are not mentioned in the layout because I have chosen a different approach. The original model is no longer supported, but it still works well as a base for those models. I won't upgrade it until there's a need. If you want to do so, feel free to make the changes. ## File Names File names follow a specific convention: 1. Model name (e.g., dcs_1, dcs_2, dsa, dsa_el). 2. Optionally size (usually empty, which is 1, but some models have 1.5 or 2). 3. Optionally flags – `bc` for traditional F/J bump, `bcr` for rotated bump for key 5, `i` for inverted dish of DSA keys, sr for rotated stem. Originally, I used to build those files directly from OpenSCAD and manage the naming manually. Later, I created a create-args.sh script that generated a config for OpenSCAD based on the naming convention. The script can generate a config for any name that follows this convention.
