Sculpting Tools
thingiverse
I've been fine-tuning my workflow by employing modeling epoxy, speckling paste and even paper mache as a finishing coat for my 3D prints lately.\nFor small-scale projects I needed tools similar to those used by clay sculptors to apply, smooth out and shape the material I'm applying on top of my 3D prints.\nAs such, I conceptualized these tools.\n\n \n \n Operating Instructions\nI crafted my tools using PLA at a resolution of 0.2mm with 2 shells and 30% infill density. Most tools will necessitate re-positioning to align the MakerBot with its long axis.\nTo shrink the tool dimensions, simply resize them utilizing the scale feature within MakerWare.\nThe finished tools can be used directly after 3D printing but I have suggested coating them with a few layers of filler-primer for extra durability, and optionally painting and sealing with a protective clear coat.
