Scroll cam indexing box
thingiverse
This indexing mechanism, also called a 'scroll cam box', is inspired by Grahovski's 'Globoidal cam indexer' on GrabCAD. It was modeled using Diamond Age PLA filament and an Ultimaker 1 printer. The design was created in MOI software. An assembly file is included, showcasing how all the parts fit together. Interestingly, the cam follower studs have left-hand threads for a specific purpose. To avoid shaft diameter and casing hole mismatches, adjustable bushes are designed, which can be customized in your slicer to suit the shaft diameter. These bushes have a significantly smaller outer diameter than their housing, allowing for centering with screws. The required screws are M3 button heads, available in 10mm and 12mm lengths. Be sure to check the orientation of the STL files before printing, as not all are properly aligned.
