I really like this spool holder because in Vancouver, we experience quite a bit of moisture here. I printed one and then decided I wanted to remix it so I could print the holder without needing any screws. The windows are cut out and filled with a sheet of acrylic that's siliconed into both the door and frame. You can use the SVG file to cut out the sheet on a Cricut cutter if you have access to one, or simply draw two concentric circles on a sheet and cut them out by hand - just make sure the radii are 90.5mm and 35mm. If you change the window size, you can use the attached Python script to generate a new SVG file. If you modify the window size in the SCAD file, you'll get new radii printed when you generate the model. I've also added the capability to extend the spool holder width since one of my spools needed an extra 10mm - see the code in SCAD for how to do it. I've included the original files from the spool holder so you can download them here. The OpenSCAD file uses the original STL files to remix this spool holder. I also included a custom screw that you can print with the knob attached.
