Screwless hinge and latch for Ultimaker 3 door
thingiverse
A remix of thing:1364236 , Simple Customizable Hinge by tommckearney and thing:10541 , Pin Connectors V2 by tbuser for my Ultimaker 3 Extended. Hinges: I shrunk them down in size and removed the holes so double sided tape could be used. Experimenting with stretching has been done, but smoothing might still be necessary for a flawless finish. Latch: The part of the latch that holds the door is 11mm high. For my 4mm door, this left about 2mm free space which was filled with four pieces of foamy tape to make it squishy and prevent scratching the plexiglass. I used a 40 x 28 cm size, 4mm thick piece of plexiglass. UPDATE: I switched to cheaper double sided tape, but over time, likely due to heat generated by the printer, it started to slide, causing the door to touch the rotary wheel. Use super glue or high quality double sided tape instead for a more reliable result. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 3 Extended Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: Default Draft settings were used with 100% infill for the hinges and 0% infill for the latch. I'm unsure if it will last long but trying it out doesn't hurt. How I Designed This I'm new to printing and modelling, this is my first print. I don't know how to use CAD software yet, so existing designs were modified by me.
