Screwdriver end cap
thingiverse
I recently acquired a screwdriver for work that I carried in my backpack, just in case I needed it (for printer/copier/scanner networking, computer tech). It had a long magnetic shank with six or so bits stored in the handle. However, the cap kept coming loose in my backpack and all the bits would fall out. In reality, I only ever used the PH2 bit anyway. Over time, I switched to a Ryobi 4V screwdriver, then eventually upgraded to an even better Dewalt gyroscopic electric screwdriver. Although it was still quite useful, it had one major drawback: it was always stuck in my backpack and would eventually poke holes through the fabric. I needed this tool just a few days ago and thought it was time for a solution. So, I designed something new. It took me three prints to get it right, initially trying 18mm threads, then moving on to 20, before finally settling on SAE 3/4-16 UNF. I'm considering tweaking the design to make it more compact and rounded in shape. To create this object, I recommend using the Cura Barbarian plugin or scaling up the model by 2540%.
