I searched for a direct way to create a thread in Designspark Mechanical but didn't find any straightforward method. So I explored alternative approaches and started by watching some YouTube tutorials, beginning with this one http://youtu.be/ZXgMY3-hlgs, which explained how the author used the helix cut feature and provided a link to another video at http://youtu.be/jyLPuvF_MVg that built on that idea. While browsing through other videos I stumbled upon a unique technique described in this additional video, http://youtu.be/p9gYEdyLFIA. After experimenting with different techniques I eventually settled on using the "cut" and "add" functions and then carefully removing any excess thread from the base model using the Pull and Cut feature. Using these techniques, I successfully created a prototype thread - specifically the 1/2 round version - to test its feasibility and functionality for easy printing and reliable operation. The print was made with Cura's default settings of a 0.1mm layer thickness and 25% fill density.
