A remix of Propeller Heads Tiller lock. My tiller has a square cross-section so I neededsomething to affix to a flat surface. I have a small sailing dinghy (AMF Puffer) so there's not much strain on this piece. If you've got a bigger boat (more rudder area) you probably want to beef up the mounting area. I've used a dowel for both the pivot and the piston that goes inside that pushes on the clutch line (craft dowels are cheaper than filiment). Mounting holes are not sized for screws, they Ar just there as pilot holes for a drill/counter sink. Next rev I'll probably extend the ear on the base plate to add a little more area for fasteners OR get rid of the ears altogether and locate the screw holes in the bod of the block. But this remix was thrown together quick to get out on the water.
