Screw Mount Cable Clamps

Nylon cable clamps are commonly used to secure electrical wiring in boats or campers where constant motion can wear down insulation. For example, check out Ancor Marine Nylon Cable Clamps at https://duckduckgo.com/?q=ancor+marine+nylon+cable+clamps. These clamps are affordable, usually sold in packages of 50 for about $5. Sometimes, however, you just need a few clamps and don't want to clutter your workspace or wait for the store to open. That's where printing your own comes in. Using a Lulzbot Mini with Cura's basic normal setting, six nylon clamps can be printed in 30 minutes. They're also surprisingly strong. A video comparing Ancor brand nylon clamps (approximately 10mm) with ABS and PLA, 10mm and 5mm printed clamps is available at https://vid.me/YRdm. The results show that PLA outperformed ABS, a surprising twist considering the conventional wisdom. In addition to the STL files, source files in FreeCAD format are included. These files can be easily modified to create different sizes or make improvements. Adding a thicker ring wall to larger clamps (10mm+) may increase their strength, but for my purposes, these clamps are sufficient. Edit: A small error in the 10mm files has been corrected.
