One of the most crucial components in any car wash setup is the mop, and its effectiveness is greatly diminished if it's damaged. A particularly frustrating situation arises when only a single screw between the shaft and brushes breaks. This necessitates purchasing an entirely new shaft because the individual screw is not available for separate purchase. However, individuals with access to 3D printing technology can now reprint this critical component with ease. By redesigning the screw in openSCAD, users can produce a precise replica that matches the original's dimensions and functionality. To achieve a smooth, high-quality finish, I opted to print the new screw using blue PLA with a slice thickness of 0.2 mm. The outcome is one of my most impressive prints since acquiring my Mendel printer, and the best part? It seamlessly fits into both the brushes on one side and the shaft on the other, ensuring optimal performance.
