Screw Flattener
thingiverse
The most common screws in my area have cone-shaped heads, which can be a major issue when you're working with printed parts that were created vertically. The cone-shaped head will force the layers apart and destroy the print if you try to screw through it. Ideally, button-headed screws are the solution to this problem, but I'm currently stuck at home due to lockdown and don't have access to them. I've made a 3D printed replacement for a broken household item that needs repair, but I only have wood screws available. So, I created a workaround that allows me to use the wood screws without damaging my print. Hopefully, someone else will find it useful. If you're curious about the reason for my lockdown, check out the date this post was published. I don't want to share more details and risk confusing search results with other models related to this situation, which are much more important and sometimes life-saving.
