Screw Driven rail
grabcad
Update v51 of f3d features a slightly enlarged EndCap screw hole to better accommodate the 8mm lead screw. In update v34, an additional lead screw with nut is included for enhanced motion, featuring a ScrewRodSlider (5/16 screw) and an 8mm lead screw. The latest f20 file includes larger holes to fit M4 Hex socket screws perfectly. This screw-driven rail is suitable for slower motion applications like Z-axis linear rails and comes with both built-in EndStop and without options. All printed components attach securely to the 1010 rail, which requires grooves for connection. Remember to adjust the scale according to your 3D printer capabilities. The connection is strong enough to require a hammer for removal. This design utilizes Flexible Shaft Couplings (5mm to 8mm), Linear Motion Rods (8 mm x 406mm), End-stops, 1010 72-inch rails, threaded rods (5/16-18), nuts (100 pack), Nema 17 stepper motors (1.7A, 5-pack), SCS8UU Linear Motion Ball Bearings, M4 and M3 screws, square nuts, pan head screws (30mm), and a specific 8mm lead screw. If used for the Z-axis of a 3D printer, a less strong Nema 17 stepper motor may suffice. Threaded rods and nuts can be sourced locally or ordered from 8020.com. The linear rail incorporates models like PillowBlock SC8UUE, Endstop Microswitch (1A, 125VAC), and Coupler (5mm to 8mm). All these components are available on Amazon but may also be sourced from AlieExpress at a lower cost.
