I'm testing this make for the first time, so I don't have a lot of experience with them yet. The legs are pretty straightforward and won't be subjected to much stress, which means they can be made from PLA or ABS just fine. They're designed to extend about 1cm beyond their normal position to accommodate longer pieces under the laser and allow you to slide boards underneath the wheels of the carriage as well as screw the laser down firmly to a table.
