Screw corner brackets
thingiverse
These corner brackets were specifically designed to strengthen and stiffen the joints of flat pack furniture that required additional fixings. Printed on their side, the stiffening ribs are chamfered to be printed without any supports, resulting in a sleeker appearance. The 3.7mm holes accommodate 3.5mm screws, spaced at approximately 17mm apart to prevent wood splitting. Both countersunk and non-countersunk models are available for use with different types of screws. Initially designed for countersunk screws, the designer encountered problems with countersunk head wedging into the part and splitting between print layers when tightened. As a result, it is recommended to use the non-countersunk versions with flat head screws, allowing for tighter fastening without plastic splitting. For screws of different sizes, scaling up the entire part is suggested, such as using 4.2mm holes for 4mm screws by applying a scale factor of 113.5%.
