This screen accurate version mounts to a ProComm 3" Ball mount, The base is accurate to the RadioShack dimension. If you have already installed a ProComm mount, You will have to patch and repaint that area in order to mount this one or a future obtained radioshack ball mount. Alternatively, you can see my Radio-shack styled base here

Whats included:

3D printable Base

.DXF drawings for the metal backing plate (plasma cut or hand cut)

.DXF for a rubber gasket (1/16" thick rubber gasket material is recommended)

INSTRUCTIONS:

3D Printed Base

3D print the base in ASA or ABS or whatever works best for you @100% infill

Sand down the print lines in the visible areas

Primer and paint in grey, I used a semigloss/satin finish, but its recommended to use gloss and a clearcoat to give maximum protection to the paint.

Metal Components

Metal components are smaller versions of the ProComm base plates you get when you order it. Its possible to adapt your current baseplates, but personally it just looks sloppy.

Plasma Cutting would be self explanatory

I used 11GA stainless steel (Use regular steel if you are unfamiliar in how to cut stainless)

Because I was mimicking the ProComm base plate, you will need to tap the smaller holes to adapt the small screw for the ground wire.

Rubber Gasket

Cut from 1/16" thick rubber, for best results, use a compass cutter.

Screws

You need 3x 10-32 Thread, 1" decorative round head slotted screw to complete the screen accurate look.

It is important to print this with strong plastics such as ASA or any Automotive grade filament that is tough and can resist outdoor heat and UV light. HIGH INFILL (80-100%) IS RECOMMENDED as high as your printer will go to assure durability.
